How to Stand Up for Freedom: 5 Glorious Tips

Are you tired of being trampled over like a bulldozer demolishing a building? That’s how I feel when I see people’s rights, freedoms, and liberties destroyed. The pile of rubble represents people trying to pillage and plunder your freedoms. The goal is to prevent the pile of rubble from being created in the first place.

The following is your guide on actionable ways to preserve your freedom.

1. Organize Against Anti-Freedom Measures

“It is now high time for the people of this country to explicitly declare whether they will be free men or slaves. “

Samuel Adams

If the quote above is the direction of the country, then you know for sure that it is time to organize against anti-freedom legislation. The bill will be passed if there isn’t opposition to it. Politicians love to say, “This is what I did. I {insert politicians name here] signed this new bill to protect y’all.”

How do you organize?

You join groups of like-minded individuals- or form them yourself. You start hosting lunches, dances, and events to gather people together. Fun events attract a large crowd. People are social creatures and love a good reason to dress up.

While you might not be able to sway all the people that come to your event, you will convince a few. The people you don’t convince immediately might go home and start using the power of the internet to research the issues that you alerted them to.

Once you have a group of liberty-minded people, you need to fundraise.

Listed below are some of the fastest and cheapest ways to raise money in a community:

  • Wash cars (very visible from the road)
  • Partner with liberty-friendly businesses
  • Crowdfunding (use the power of the internet)

If your efforts are seen as grassroots, I bet you’d be surprised how much support you’ll receive.

2. Educate on Issues, Constitution, and Founding Documents

You must know what you are fighting against. Undefined opposition is difficult to combat.

Scour the websites of your local, state, and federal governments for open comment periods on new ordinances or bills.

You can find your opponent’s websites helpful for legislation that they want to promote to restrict your freedoms. They will tell on themselves.

Thanks to Benjamin Franklin founding some of the first libraries in the USA, you can go educate yourself about the Constitution and founding documents at your local library.

These documents are the basis for your freedoms and why you are fighting to keep your autonomy.

Check out this blog post for some of the basic documents to research at the library here.

3. Vocalize Concerns

“Be Loud and Proud!”

We have all heard that phrase somewhere. Don’t let the politicians shut you up.

If you’re at a comment session at a local city hall, use all your time to voice your concern with stats, figures, and how the potential new legislation will affect your daily freedom. Don’t sit down before all your time is up. You have more points to make.

Have you ever been driving down the road to see a cleverly worded billboard? In fact, you had to turn around to verify what you saw. I have.

That is the definition of voicing your concerns. If you make people do a doubletake at your message, you’re doing something right.

4. Maintain Unity of Group

Without unity and the cohesiveness of the freedom movement, we all lose.

You need to connect individually with the liberty crowd. They must reciprocate the love as well.

One way to connect is to share individual experiences to maintain closeness. Sharing why you joined builds comradery among the group members.

There will be attempts of different people, groups, and random political hacks that will question your legitimacy as a group. If you have done the previously mentioned tips, they will not succeed.

Also, your education of the fundamental constitutional principles maintains the glue of unity.

The Constitution has kept the USA together for over 230 years. Why can’t it be the document to help keep liberty-minded folks together?

5. Live Like You’re Free

By living free, you are practicing what you’re protecting. You’re protecting freedom for your community and you.

Everyone says lead by example. You’re showing the world that there is nothing wrong with our cause.

Display and declare freedom to be the norm instead of the exception.
